From pandemics to natural disasters, the world of public health in the Middle East and North Africa takes on a new important role as citizens demand more from their governments. MEPC works to uncover the effects of public health issues on marginalized communities in MENA. The world of public health entails protecting and improving the health of communities and how the government can or should fulfill this role. Thus, public health issues will continue to have a prominent role in governance and foreign policy in the Middle East and North Africa. Through the quarterly Capitol Hill conferences, journal articles, and Emerging Voices column, MEPC aims to explore the effects of pandemics and natural disasters on the public health system and thefuture trends of the healthcare system in the region.
