Council president Ford Fraker recently addressed the topic of royal succession in Saudi Arabia in an article published by the Wall Street Journal.  In addressing various succession scenarios, Ambassador Fraker commented that:

“Succession speculation in Saudi Arabia is the favorite indoor sport.  There are 20 scenarios that people say is going to happen.  This is something the family works out, and they have their own way of doing it, and they’ve done it reasonably successfully for 75 years.”
